How Could You?

How could you do this?
I felt all the knives stab into me,
All the sadness filling my heart.
Adding a brick or two at a time.

Biting back the tears,
Noticing all my fears.
I'd like to thank you now.
Now that I feel so empty inside,
That I lost a best friend.
Will my heart ever mend.

And the question still comes to mind.
"How could you?"
